Optimistic Outlook!

Well the weathermen tell me tomorrow will be windy and wet....not a good thing when you have a stall at the Shepton Flea market! But I'm being optimistic about it and hoping that a few of these will cheer everyone up. I found this wonderful and delicate tea service in Frome today and the art nouveau set I found last summer in a boot sale so I've filled them with cheerful flowers and will sell them tomorrow. If you make it there do pop and say hello...my stall is inside thank goodness!

Work in Progress and a Visit to the Dairy

Hello lovely bloggers, I hope you have all had a wonderful Valentines day. Mr Darling made a wonderful roast dinner tonight..much better than I could do so I feel thoroughly spoilt! I thought I'd share with you a few pieces I'm working on at the moment for the upcoming Flea at Shepton Mallet and for 'Poot' in Frome although I'm having the same old problem about parting with them...especially the grey one! We visited Sue this morning at The Dairy House where I found a super embroidered picture (thanks to Liz) I've tried to capture the colours as they are wonderful but I don't think my photos really do it justice. I'm not sure where I'm going to put it but I'm sure I'll find a place for it. I'm so relieved its half term here as things are very busy at the moment getting more work made and trying (unsuccessfully!)to write a press release for the upcoming 'Vintage Bazaar' but we found time to get to the Assembly rooms fashion fair where I picked up some stunning vintage flowers (can you spot the ladybird hiding there?) so they will be coming to a cloche near you soon...probably..maybe..if I can part with them...oh dear you see my problem?

The Venue

Just a quick look at some pics I took today inside the Cheese and Grain in Frome where 'The Vintage Bazaar' (http://www.thevintagebazaar.blogspot.com/) will be held in Oct. It is a super space with lovely windows and a cafe at one end serving food and drinks. There will be a selection of different stalls/tables available but its filling up fast so if you're interested give me or Liz the heads up!

Exciting News!

Some of you may recognise these delightful ( and pretty famous!) green shelves? They belong to the lovely Liz (the washerwoman) whose stall is a usual haunt for me at various fairs including Jayne and Michele's 'Vinatge and Handmade Fair'. Well, a couple of weeks ago Mr Darling and I were on our way to Shepton Mallet to visit Niki's shop and were chatting about how it was a shame there wasn't a vintage fair in Frome and well, it got me thinking. I thunk and I thunk and while I was thunking I visited Liz on her stall at the Shepton Antique fair and we had a chat and I thunked some more...and now there will be a fair in Frome because Liz and I are going to run it!! Oh yes indeedy we are and we're very excited about it too..pop it in your diaries..'The Vintage Bazaar' on Saturday 30th October at The Cheese and Grain in Frome. There will be more information and a list of lovely stallholders soon...........
